Válvulas ARCO: How to achieve together with ET Systems the supply chain model from traditional logistics

ET Systems has actively participated in the restructuring of the facilities of Válvulas ARCO S.L., located in Foios (Valencia).

Válvulas ARCO, S. L., based in Foios (Valencia), is a family company with four lines of business dedicated to the design, production and distribution of valves, accessories and systems for plumbing, gas and heating.

Its continuous growth, accompanied by a significant production capacity (more than 40 million valves), and its extensive international market (with branches on five continents), has meant the need to transform its traditional logistics to the supply chain model, with the participation of ET Systems, S. L. in the definition of equipment to achieve the planned volumes of activity.

This restructuring is mainly due to:

- Existing space limitations in central facilities, with conventional equipment that slowed down all warehouse processes (stock management, preparation, etc. . . . ).

- The need to reduce the response time to the end customer.

- Optimisation of the company's technical and human resources. As a family business, the human resources are part of Válvulas ARCO, S. L., so the restructuring proposal must revolve around making the most of the productive capacity of the available resources.

To this end, it has implemented a Compact Twin vertical single-column warehouse, KBS display system and motorised roller conveyors for the delivery of prepared loads and classification by routes, all managed with the Ulises WMS management software.

In terms of facilities, Válvulas ARCO, S. L. has adapted one of its warehouses, with a surface area of 6,000 m2 and a clear height of 8 m, where conventional racking has been installed for palletised loads and where ET Systems has provided the corresponding advice and definition of its layout and operational picking processes.
