ET Systems has equipped the new logistics centre for Royal Talens, S.A.

The specialist magazine Handling & Storage publishes an interesting article on the installation of various ET SYSTEMS customised solutions in the TALENS distribution centre in Sant Fruitós de Bages (Barcelona).

The new Talens distribution platform has a surface area of 5,000 square metres, all of which is on the ground floor, on which ET Systems has carried out the corresponding assessment and definition of its layout and operational processes, differentiating between palletised storage areas and picking areas.

The palletisation area has been equipped with conventional racking with a capacity for approximately 4,800 pallets, and on which full-package (box or pallet) picking work is carried out.

In the unit picking area, in addition to the 4 horizontal carousels that Talens already had, new equipment with identical characteristics has been incorporated, and the five elements (with a capacity of 54 carriers each) have been aligned at floor level, thus obtaining a single unit picking area.

For the preparation of orders, there are also 2 multi-order tables equipped with 16 displays for simultaneous preparation and live racks for the delivery of finished orders to the consolidation area.

Finally, and as the main feature of the installation, the ULISES WMS software has been implemented for the integral management of the warehouse (including radio frequency module).
